It is time to bring all of Tehachapi together to create a tennis community. There are enough players in the greater Tehachapi area but we are fragmented by micro communities and distance. We need to bring all the players of Bear Valley Springs, Stallion Springs, Alpine Forest, Golden Hills, Golden Oaks, Oak Knolls and Tehachapi into a larger, more viable tennis community.
We have the climate and the good air. Tennis should be thriving here. We don't have a central gathering location. There are no public tennis courts. Bear Valley has their gate. Stallion Spring's courts belong to Woodward West. Parks and Rec have no courts. The courts on the school grounds are not available during the best tennis times and don't have lights.
Network Tennis is a club for all of Tehachapi. We currently play at the High School courts on Saturday mornings, 8am summer, 9am winter. Network Tennis is in the Tehachapi News as an ongoing event and has been growing all summer.
No fee. No gate. Free clinics and instruction the first hour.
And did you know...There are abandoned tennis courts on the Golden Hills golf property? I hope we can someday resurrect them as they are more protected from the wind than the school courts. Its on my radar.
